WHEN: Oct. 31, 2024 from 4 - 6 p.m. WHAT: The La Mesa Village Association will host its 6th annual Halloween in La Mesa Trick-or-Treating event. It will be a spooktacular event as the downtown Village gets into the Halloween spirit by handing out treats to our community. This is a free, family-friendly event for all to enjoy. Dress up in costume and trick-or-treat at participating businesses along La Mesa Blvd. between 4th St. - Acacia and adjacent streets (both sides of Spring St.). Entertainment*Halloween-Themed Stilt Walkers - spot fun-themed characters walking down La Mesa Blvd. for a frightfully fun selfie! *Halloween-Themed Organ Concert at the La Mesa First United Methodist Church, located at 4690 Palm Ave./La Mesa Blvd. Their organist will play a "spooky" variety of Halloween tunes you're sure to enjoy beginning at 4:45 p.m.! 3rd Annual Howl-o-Ween Pet Costume ContestDress up your pet for a fun Halloween costume contest! WHAT: Dress up your pet(s) and enter them into one of the following categories at the event - "Most Creative", "Spookiest", "Best Pet/Pet Parent Combo", "Cutest" and "Funniest"!   • Palomar Health is hosting a free online seminar on the physical and psychological effects of hearing loss. Palomar Health’s Chief of Audiology and Hearing Services, David M. Illich, Au.D., will host a review of the most current worldwide research. The primary focus will cover how hearing loss specifically affects our brain’s cognitive abilities. Participants can expect to receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of registration.
