  • Media Arts Center San Diego (MACSD) In partnership with University of California San Diego (UCSD) will offer Free workshops for Beat Making, composing, and podcast classes at the City Heights Idea Lab starting in July. The Beat Making class will have a stipend of $300 per session and film composing will have a stipend of $150.   • Bocón, a San Diego based theatre company, will present two free readings of the play "BRAT," written by Wendy Maples and directed by Carla Nell. Struggling to find friends, dealing with a missing parent, and trying to find strength in community, "BRAT" is inspired by the true stories and interviews of military "brats." "BRAT" starts with the question “Where are you from?” and then leads us through snapshots of life as a military child moves from place to place on a journey of challenging experiences and discoveries.
