In this three-hour workshop, we’ll look at the role of nature and non-human animals in stories and learn how to render both with compassion and authenticity. Through examples and writing prompts, we’ll examine ways you can reveal the natural world in your writing, including establishing setting, doing research, and capturing sensory detail. We’ll also look at how to authentically portray non-human animals in ways that honor their individuality and true selves.
