All Gelson’s locations will feature festive red bins where customers can donate new, unwrapped toys for children and teens across Southern California. This year’s drive supports returning regional partners, with all San Diego stores benefiting Promises2Kids. Only new, unwrapped gifts for infants, children and adolescents can be accepted. Suggested items include educational toys, dolls, action figures, craft kits, coloring books, board games, sports gear, books, gift cards, socks, blankets, makeup, pajamas, movies and more.   • Back by popular demand, the German American Societies of San Diego will be hosting another Traditional Christmas Market in the Biergarten on two days: Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday Dec. 14, 2025. Bundle up in [San Diego] winter attire to shop for homemade goods and holiday gifts, listen to live music, watch performances from both adult and youth choral and dance groups, eat traditional dishes like Currywurst and European pastries, and sip on cool seasonal brews or warm Glühwein. This festive occasion is sure to warm hearts and fill bellies while kicking off the merriest of seasons at our home away from home: The German American Societies of San Diego. Tickets are $5 and they will be available at the gate. Club members, volunteers, Military and youth under the age of 21 are free.
