At the center of Southcrest Trails Neighborhood Park sits a public art project inspired by the community's decades-long battle to stop a freeway.

Taught by instructor Hayley Haspel-Winick, with special guest musician and storyteller, at this December camp, children will go on explorations observing and learning about various things in nature. They will explore through sensory activities, songs, and stories while developing coordination skills. Campers will make season-themed crafts in various mediums (clay wood, and textiles). Littles learn best by doing and playing. We practice handwork and workplay. We “play” with natural objects and materials such as wood, stones, clay, felt, paper + more! Each project is planned so that children build skills while satisfying their need to explore. Projects are safe, non-toxic, earth friendly, and full of creativity. Ages 3-6 welcome!

Deb Welsh is a familiar name to news radio listeners in San Diego, having been in the market for more than 25 years. Before joining KPBS, Deb worked as a news anchor for KSDO and KOGO News Radio.
