  • Quartet Nouveau returns to the garden at Art Produce joined by baritone Jonathan Nussman for a free community concert. This one hour performance features the "Juliet Letters" by Elvis Costello and The Brodsky Quartet. This piece was inspired by a Veronese academic who had taken on the task of replying to letters addressed to "Juliet Capulet." The idea of what was in these letters provided the inspiration for this work and Costello said about the music, "It's not a rock opera. It's a new thing." Quartet Nouveau is a San Diego based string quartet and is happy to collaborate with Jonathan whose varied interests include opera, theater, improvisation and chamber music. This concert is made possible by a grant from the Qualcomm Foundation. Related events: Connect with Quartet Nouveau on Facebook!
