Jackie Mendoza is a singer and producer who makes whimsical and intimate electro pop. Laura Gonzalez is a musician and software engineer inspired by the complex layers of shoegaze and dream pop. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of feng shui, as well as ways to incorporate these tips into daily life. Specifically, students will learn more about how to create an environment that best supports them in day-to-day life and in their artistic endeavors. By the end of the workshop, participants will have suggestions for inviting in new opportunities via increasing productivity and finding creative flow, as well as gaining recognition through aligning with the “right” people to assist on the creative journey. We open the ninth season of our Haydn Voyages series with a program that features two Haydn quartets that show the master composer at the peak of his creative powers, though 15 years apart (his opus 33, no. 4 from 1781 and his later opus 76, no. 1 from 1796). Between these two we’ll take a trip up the coast for a taste of Hollywood, featuring Erich Korngold’s second quartet from 1933, when he was starting to establish himself as one of the great composers of Hollywood film scores. Nicole Lizee’s Another Living Soul (written in 2016 for the Kronos Quartet’s 50 For the Future project) is a wild ride: her tribute to stop motion animation calls for actual bells and whistles! The North Coast Symphony Orchestra presents National Treasures, a concert featuring guitarist Jose Rodriguez, on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at the San Dieguito United Methodist Church. Soloist Rodriguez, an award winning guitarist, will perform the popular "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo. The concert also includes Jean Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 and Manuel de Falla's Spanish Dance No. 1.

The semi-formal event includes a three-course meal, drinks, live musical performances by the students of SDSCPA, dancing, and a silent and live auction. Tickets are available for purchase on the Friends of SCPA (FOSCPA) website at $180 per person, $1,800 for tables seating ten in prime locations, and $2,800 for VIP corporate sponsorship tables. Proceeds from the benefit will directly support continued arts education at SDSCPA.
