The Boarte Piano Trio was enthusiastically created by three of the most dedicated and outstanding Polish musicians of our time. The promisingly gifted pianist Konrad Skolarski, the breathtaking virtuoso Jarosław Nadrzycki , and the sensational cellist Karol Marianowski are all acclaimed artists in their country and abroad. They are laureates of many international music competitions, each with a long history of performances all over Europe, North and South America, as well as Asia. The members of the Trio have won many prestigious international competitions, and have also received numerous awards for their previous recordings, including the Supersonic Award of the German magazine Pizzicato, five Diapasons d’Or of the French Magazine *Diapason and several nominations for the Fryderyk award. The three Boarte Trio musicians have also performed with leading orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the MDR Sinfonieorchester, and the Simón Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela. All three artists are Graduate Students of the Hochschule für Musik Köln, the Boston Conservatory, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, and the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where they currently conduct pedagogical activities. Taught by a variety of skilled educators and professional artists, your child will explore seasonal crafts, celebrating Spring through a variety of mediums such as woodworking, ceramics, textiles, glass and more. Along the way, we’ll make fun, high-quality crafts kids can take home. Our projects are geared to build and hone skills such as hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, creativity, comprehension + exploration of a variety of materials. Projects and depth of craft exploration are matched up to the child’s age and ability. It’s important that your child bring water in a refillable bottle and a snack (no candy or peanut products please) in case they are hungry or thirsty during this time. In addition, if your child is enrolled in a nearby camp elsewhere in Liberty Station, and they’re camp is ending as ours begins, we are happy to walk your child from their camp to the studio. They will explore through sensory activities, crafts and stories while developing fine motor skills. Campers will make season-themed crafts in various mediums–clay, wood and textiles. Littles learn best by doing and playing. We practice handwork and workplay. We “play” with natural objects and materials such as wood, stones, clay, felt, paper + more! Each project is planned so that children build skills while satisfying their need to explore. Projects are safe, non-toxic, earth friendly, and full of creativity. The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep presents the heartbreaking romance, "Failure: A Love Story" as its next student production! By the end of 1928, all three Fail sisters will be dead — expiring in reverse order, youngest to oldest, from blunt object to the head, disappearance, and finally consumption. Tuneful songs, and a whimsical chorus follow the story of Nelly, Jenny June, and Gerty as they live out their lives above the family clock repair shop near the Chicago River, before their time unexpectedly runs out. A magical, musical fable where, in the end, the power of love is far greater than any individual’s successes or failures. Director Benjamin Cole is eager to share the talents of his student cast. “The show offers some unique challenges for creative staging with characters like Front Door, Moses the ball python, December and Mae the feral monk parakeets, and even Cuckoo Clock,” Cole reveals. “We’re exploring storytelling in a way not often seen in youth theatre,” he insists. Assistant Director Steve Smith adds, “This incredibly emotional script is both tragic and beautiful. It is a treat to work on with our students!” The show runs a sweet 90 minutes with no intermission and hopes to be the perfect date night for Valentine’s week. Additional production staff includes Sound Designer, Caleb Foley; Stage Manager, Paul Smith; and Lighting and Projections Designer, Liam Sullivan.
