For over 10 years, she has been a vocalist, trombonist, bongocera artist, tap dancer, radio voice over artist, model, and the lead vocalist for the Crowned Jewelz Band. Her high flying energy on stage can be felt throughout the entire performance, and her soulful rhythm and melodies are sure to lull any audience into a feel good vibe. Jonesy Jones has been involved in dance since the age of 10. Yolanda began teaching beginner Tap dance and Hip-Hop dance under Lynn Brown at Prima Dance Studios at the age of 16. She also taught modern hip-hop and Tap Dance at Midtown Dance Studios and Mobile Contemporary Dance Studios.

  • The History Center has hosted the exhibition "Nathan Harrison: Born Enslaved, Died a San Diego Legend" since spring 2021. As we enter the final stretch of what has been a fascinating look at both the the story of this famed Palomar Mountain homesteader Nathan Harrison, and the process of discovery, we are proud to host one final program featuring Prof. Mallios, as well as archaeology grad student Jamie Bastide. Dr. Mallios and Jamie Bastide will discuss the recent rediscovery of Harrison’s lost shotgun and place this extraordinary find in the context of self-armament, masculinity, and identity in late 19th-century San Diego County. Drawing on recent insights from the Nathan Harrison Historical Archaeology Project, a 20-year endeavor that has uncovered nearly 60,000 artifacts and revealed numerous new insights into this legendary local pioneer, they will also detail how the weapon was relocated and its significance for the region.
