  • Do you want to see your writing in magazines? Would you like to receive a check for what you write? If your goal is to write personal essays and get paid for them, this is the class for you. We will go through idea generation, how to find publications that are right for your idea, and how to pitch to editors and locate their e-mail addresses. You will finish the class with several ideas for essays, where to pitch them, and with a list of resources to build those bylines!   • In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of feng shui, as well as ways to incorporate these tips into daily life. Specifically, students will learn more about how to create an environment that best supports them in day-to-day life and in their artistic endeavors. By the end of the workshop, participants will have suggestions for inviting in new opportunities via increasing productivity and finding creative flow, as well as gaining recognition through aligning with the “right” people to assist on the creative journey. Join us on Monday, November 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in editing and writing Wikipedia articles regarding Native American history. Learn the basics of Wikipedia editing and learn more about influential Native American historical figures and events. All experience levels are welcome. It is highly recommended that participants create a Wikipedia account ahead of time.

Artistic directors Kareli Montoya (Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles) and Jaime Cuéllar have created a holiday experience celebrating the traditions and customs of Christmas in Mexico with an all-star cast of musicians and dancers. In Mexico, Christmas is a whole season of holiday celebrations that represent a blend of Indigenous cultures, Spanish heritage, and diverse cultural influences. Spirited folk tales are shared through a stunning display of vibrant colors and dance as Mariachi music fills the air.
