She is also a member of Back Country Horsemen, San Vicente Saddle Club, and the Ramona Trails Association. - Craig Kolodge, Ph.D., is the former academic advisor, field plant pathologist and county director for the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) in Santa Clara County. He currently serves as the Business Development and Sustainability Manager for San Pasqual Valley Soils. Craig is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and an expert in the use of compost-based Sustainable Management Practices (SMPs) for storm water management and industrial pollution management (Trainer of Record for Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner – QISP statewide program). - Josh Robinson holds a Master’s Degree in Ecological Landscape Design. He is the director and co-founder of the San Diego Sustainable Living Institute and is a principal landscape designer for Ecology Artisans. His work has been featured in two books: Art Ludwig’s Create an Oasis with Greywater, and Toby Hemenway’s Gaia’s Garden. We invite you to In The Bag's first installment of SYNERGY, designed for our community to gather outside of a club and in an environment where we aim to balance our physical and spiritual bodies. Hosted in partnership with wellness-focused non-profit Namastay Sober, SYNERGY 1.0 will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Quartyard (1301 Market Street, San Diego). SYNERGY 1.0 kicks off Namastay Sober’s Sobruary Challenge, a month-long community experience to reconnect with yourself and get out of your comfort zone. The challenge encourages refraining from alcohol and drugs, or another habit that disconnects you like doom scrolling or bingeing tv, for the month of February to show solidarity for those navigating recovery. The Heritage Ranch and Ovation Theatre are pleased to announce the return of The Haunted Ghost Town, an immersive, family-friendly experience opening October 20 at the Heritage Ranch in Encinitas. Due to the popularity of last year’s inaugural event, including sold-out dates, an additional night has been added for 2023. This year’s haunt will transport visitors back to the Gold Rush era – a time when some folks would do anything for a chance at striking it rich – to explore the doomed mining town of Bitter Gulch and come face to face with the souls who remain trapped there forever. Set among restored historic buildings, this experience combines authentic details, rich storytelling based on local legends and the dark history of the Gold Rush, and bone-chilling performances by professionally trained actors in period-specific costumes. The result is an unforgettable haunted attraction to be enjoyed by all ages. Nightly tours of The Haunted Ghost Town are available October 20 – 22 and October 27 – 30 with less scary experiences suitable for young children offered from 5 – 6:30 p.m. followed by more spine-tingling presentations recommended for ages 12+ from 7 – 9 p.m., with the last entry at 8:45 p.m. Refreshments inspired by the Gold Rush era will be available for purchase.
