  • Oceanside International Film Festival is proud to announce a special reunion screening of Stephen King's Thinner, taking place at The Star Theatre in Downtown Oceanside on Saturday, June 17. The presentation will be followed by a retrospective panel discussion with attending cast & crew of the film. Set to appear in-person are Director Tom Holland(Child’s Play, Fright Night), Stars Robert John Burke & Lucinda Jenney, as well as makeup & effects artist Vincent J. Guastini with more guests to be announced. The Event will include a lobby reception, complete with a meet & greet for ticketed attendees and a Red Carpet hosted by Julia Marchese and Teri Gamble of the Horror Movie Survival Guide podcast. In Stephen King's Thinner, an obese lawyer (Billy Halek, played by Robert John Burke) finds himself growing "Thinner" when a mysterious carney (Michael Constantine) places a hex on him. Now the lawyer must call upon his friends in organized crime (Joe Mantegna) to help persuade the old man to lift the curse. Time is running out for the desperate lawyer as he draws closer to his own death & grows ever thinner by the day.

  • From the gallery: Oolong Gallery is pleased to present "Global Entry," an inaugural exhibition to the art world stage, featuring an international collection of thirteen prominent and emerging artists. The show brings together core mediums in contemporary art: video, sculpture, painting, illustration, mixed media, and installation work. "Global Entry" was born from the doldrums of the pandemic and thus focuses on pleasure, convergence and the artists' mastery of a quarantine studio practice.   • From the Hausmann Quartet: May’s Haydn Voyages program journeys through places and times far and wide, from Haydn’s Vienna and London to Milhaud’s Europe, Caroline Shaw’s musical depiction of the grounds of Washington DC’s Dumbarton Oaks and Max Vinetz’s work inspired by a cross-country journey.   • Pacific Coast Harmony will present “Happy Together,” a concert of modern four-part acapella harmony music on Saturday, June 17 2023, at 3:15 p.m. at the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center, 5967 La Sendita, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067. The music spans the Great American Songbook, Broadway theater and film, popular songs, and beyond. In addition to the chorus, there will be several quartet appearances, featuring “The Summertimers Harmony Band,” 2022 Barbershop Harmony Society Far Western District champs. The concert will follow a reception from 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. with beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.
