  • "Carmen Argote: Filtration System for a Process-based Practice" features a recent body of work by Los Angeles-based artist Carmen Argote (b. 1981, Guadalajara, MX), much of which was completed during the pandemic. Accomplished over a five-year period, six interwoven series navigate the artist's perennial walking practice, centering around Lincoln Park in East Los Angeles. Through sculpture, drawing, voice recordings, and actions, Argote playfully galumphs over boundaries between public and private, self and world, and human and non-human animal.
