  • Aspiring artist and UCSD visual art student Heather Rosati is hosting an art event, showcasing local San Diego artists. This art show is a public event being put on in partnership with The San Diego Made Factory. Alongside the work being showcased by the gathered artists, The San Diego Made Factory will host their open studio day for their tenants. There will be a bar, live music, and food! The theme “Letters to You” was created to explore the text’s role in art. Not only must we consider who the viewer, or reader is, with such pieces, but we must also question the intention, the “why?”. Valentine’s day is a day of love and expressing that to one another. This is a day filled with much letter writing and much vulnerability. Around this holiday is the time I began exploring the theme of letter-writing, and the intimacy behind it. I found it to be an interesting fit for a body of work, circling back to the questions of whom/what is one creating/writing for, and why. Date | Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Location | San Diego Made Factory This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit hmrcreates.com or call the venue at (619) 817-5517.
