  • Sundays, September 7 & 14, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Steam bending wood is an efficient and environmentally-friendly process that has been used for hundreds of years in the construction of chairs, boats, tools, and countless other wooden objects. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamental process of steam bending wood, from wood selection and preparation, to the actual bending and drying process. Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students will each make their own steam-bent flower vase to take home. Materials are included. Students are asked to wear/bring long-sleeved clothing and a pair of thermal or heavy gloves. These are the instructor’s favorite gloves. Ages 18 and up. No experience necessary.
