  • Robin's Nest Rescue will host its third annual Rockin' Robin Music Festival & Fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a fantastic line-up of local musical acts across two stages, as well as food trucks, a live auction, cute farm animals, face painting, and more! Put on your dancing boots! We'll have a fantastic line-up of 12 musical acts, including local San Diego and Ramona favorites Ash & the Mondays, Dirty Confetti, Farm Truck, Michael Dean Goodrich, Sun Valley String Band, Zavala Sol, Jeff Berkley, Jessie Lark, Calamity Trio, Chloe Lou, and Elizabeth Bowersox. Guest artist Eddy Green, who hails from Chicago, will return to the stage as well. Tickets for this family-friendly event range from $10 - $125. Robin's Nest Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and all proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit our animal sanctuary and therapeutic programs.   • Prost, San Diego! The 9th Annual East Village Oktoberfest returns to Quartyard on Saturday, September 20 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., bringing Munich vibes with a SoCal twist. Co-hosted by Quartyard and the East Village Association, the one-day event will feature craft beer, festive bites, live music, and games in a lively seated beer hall atmosphere. Expect Bavarian classics like pretzels and sausages alongside El Comal’s Mexican flavors, plus a lineup of live Polka music, tribute bands, and high-energy performances. Adding to the excitement, attendees can compete in lively Oktoberfest-themed games and competitions, hosted by local favorite SDHosted. Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional Oktoberfest attire - think lederhosen and dirndls. This event is 21+ only. General admission tickets range from $20-$25.   • On Friday, October 24, Songwriter Sanctuary will host Shea Givens, DevvLove, and SDMA Artist of the Year Anthony Cullins performing original music in a Nashville-style round. The event is hosted by the legendary Jeff Berkley in partnership with Normal Heights United. (4650 Mansfield St. Suggested Donation $10. All ages. Doors 6:30 p.m., Music 7 p.m.) All donations collected go directly to artists, and no one is turned away for lack of funds. About the Artists Shea Givens, a Missouri native now based in Southern California, is a musician known for her powerful live performances. With influences from R&B, Neo-Soul, Blues, Rock, and Country, she is unafraid to experiment with genre styles. Shea's music explores themes of love, mental health, and self-acceptance, drawing from personal experiences. She recently released the song "anxieties" both as a solo performance and with her band, showcasing her versatile musical style. Currently, Shea is working on her upcoming album with her bandmates, with the first single set to release in May 2024. Anthony Cullins, known as “The Fallbrook Kid,” fuses blues, funk, rock, and soul into a dazzling guitar style that’s earned him San Diego Music Awards for Best Blues Artist (2023) and Artist of the Year (2025). He has performed alongside icons including Frank Hannon, Greg Douglass, and Kid Ramos. DevvLov delivers a unique blend of rhythm and soul, performing from his cajón while looping percussion and keys. His sound weaves influences from Alicia Keys, Damien Rice, Bon Iver, Bob Marley, and Michael Jackson into something all his own.
