Oliveros’ "Sonic Meditations" were a series of activities and text-based scores that emphasize somatic healing through close listening. Both programs are free with RSVP, which also includes free admission to the Museum. Performance When: Saturday, November 23 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. This event offers new performances of selected "Meditations" and invites visitors into Oliveros’ practice of sonic awareness. Workshop When: Sunday, November 24 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. This workshop offers a collective exploration of the histories, materials, and social concerns that shaped Pauline Oliveros’ work with the "Sonic Meditations" and other facets of her practice. Our experience will illuminate the "Meditations" through archival materials and explore connections between sound and voice with ecology, embodiment, and justice in our contemporary historical moment.
