In this fun and interactive class, you will learn basic sewing techniques as experienced sewing teacher and fashion designer, Tracey Herriot, guides you through essential sewing techniques. Each student will choose their own design by selecting the color, pattern, and style of your superhero cape. Whether you prefer bold and vibrant or sleek and mysterious, the choice is yours! Students will cut, sew, attach fastenings, add unique elements, such as symbols, initials or special emblems that reflect your super hero identity. No prior sewing experience is required, as this class is designed for all skill levels. All you need is a passion for superheroes and a desire to create something extraordinary!   • This workshop is designed to introduce you to the world of perfumery. No previous experience with fragrance making is required. During the workshop, you will create your own signature scent using a variety of essential oils and fragrance notes provided by our French Perfume Designer, Jil Croquet. You will learn about Perfume composition, have fun smelling and enter the very secretive world of Perfume Formulation. You will learn how to blend and balance scents, as well as the basics of perfume making techniques. All materials and tools will be provided, and the cost of materials is included in the workshop fee. This workshop is suitable for ages 14 and up. Choose from two dates | October 22, from 2 – 5 p.m. November 12, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Reflections is an art-making workshop series designed to serve adults 55 and older. In this workshop series participants will explore how ideas about the body integrate into contemporary art. Through close looking, we will engage with artworks where the body is present, and where its notable absence invokes the body. Each workshop will include an investigation of contemporary art-making techniques and materials. No prior art experience is required. Transportation will be provided, if required. Participants may join one session (two days) or more! Session 1: October 13 & October 20 Explore monumental and diminutive scales and create a figurine out of clay. We will draw inspiration from Francisco Zuniga’s commanding sculpture, "Juchiteca de pie" (1966), with its strong, unflinching stance, and Niki de Saint Phalle’s "Big Ganesh" (1988), a monumental rendering of the elephant-headed Hindu god symbolizing new beginnings.
