  • The Front Arte y Cultura and Kilikili Project present “Don’t Look at Me” a video concert screening previously filmed at The FRONT Arte Cultura on the day of the solar eclipse, April 8th 2024. Kilikili is the brainchild of Lexi Pulido, birthed under her original jazz alternative quintet, now the psuedonym for ensemble variations of her original compositions. For this performance, Pulido worked alongside Katie Berns and Ryan Ebaugh to deliver arrangements of spoken word, powerfully-woven melodic play, and physically challenging, theatrical gestures. From the artist, "'Don’t look at me' liberates the artist from ego, bowing to the role as vessel over self." The event runs 5 - 7 p.m.The film itself lasts 30 minutes and will be preceded by a brief artist presentation beginning around 5:30 p.m. Following the film, attendees will be invited to partake in homemade rice krispies wrapped in the excess red plastic wrap she has used in multiple performances throughout 2024 as a symbol of shame, an invitation to "peel back the layers" of shame to access pleasure. This event is free, and we request your RSVP to get a head count going! • Oolong Gallery is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, "The Room of Orpheus," on view from Nov. 1 to Dec. 11, 2024. This is the second show in Oolong's new permanent Rancho Santa Fe gallery space featuring work by four Southern California based artists: Jasmine Little, Derek Simons, Stan Kaplan, Bianca Juarez, who collectively explore themes of mythology, memory, and material in the form of ceramic sculptures and paintings. Inspired by the Mediterranean origins and mythology of Orpheus and the poignant Orphic trilogy by Jean Cocteau, alongside Philip Glass’s powerful score, "The Room of Orpheus" invites viewers into a new contemporary art space set in the Spanish Colonial town of Rancho Santa Fe, California. In relation to artists, the myth of Orpheus serves as a powerful metaphor for the creative process. Just as Orpheus's music evokes deep emotions and connects with universal themes of love, loss, and longing, artists use their mediums to explore and express the complexities of the human experience. • Join our monthly fellowship as we share metaphysical insights from the Divine on a variety of topics and current affairs. This month, Dimitri will explore the spiritual dynamics of leadership. Leadership shows itself very clearly in the auric field. As the United States heads into its national elections, its citizens are already exercising their democratic right to vote and elect leaders who will reaffirm the principles that made America the inspiring nation it is. There is a national karma when it comes to leadership. We must go through the process of selecting our leaders, yet in doing so, what we are really doing is fulfilling our part in the divine plan. The United States, and the world, has been going through growing pains. World dynamics are changing as part of the evolution of civilization, and this is reflected in the current political stresses. Yet these stresses are not just about leadership; they reflect the present temperament and character of its citizens. While we may share differing points of view, as citizens, we must all do our part to cooperate in taking America to the next step in its collective evolution. Meditations with Divine Light, world prayers and music will be part of the fellowship. There has never been a better time to pursue your soul’s growth. We welcome you in the great spiritual adventure! DIMITRI MORAITIS is cofounder and spiritual director of the renowned Spiritual Arts Institute.
