Whether this describes you, or if you are looking to enhance your woodworking skills and make a thoughtful gift for someone- this workshop is for you. Students will leave this workshop with two test tube bud vases and the skills to begin creating their own designs. We will cover shop safety and use of the bandsaw, spindle sander, edge sander, drill press, as well as various hand tools. Students will also learn sanding best practices and how to achieve a perfect finish. This workshop is designed for beginners. It is recommended that you have taken “Intro to Woodworking” but is not required. Advanced students are urged to join! All materials will be provided. In this workshop we will cover: • The purpose and environmental benefits of rain barrels and rain harvesting • Downspouts and connection to rain barrels • Rain chains in connection with the rain barrels • Hands-on demonstration of installing a rain barrel • Maintenance of the rain barrel • How to empty the rainwater from the barrel during the rainy season for capacity City of San Diego residents are eligible for discounted rain barrels thanks to discounts offered by the City of San Diego this rainy season!* Rain barrels are $22 each for City of San Diego residents after the $75 discount (original price $97.)
