This Indigenous Borderlands art exhibition consciously features intergenerational artists and incorporates multimedia forms, including sculpture, paintings, photographs, silk screen prints, installations, digital art, videos, and other cultural forms, that together speak to the visuality of the Indigenous borderlands of the Payomkawichum Kumeyaay on whose lands the Centro Cultural de la Raza stands and other respective Indigenous nations. The exhibited pieces offer a complex visual narrative of the Borderlands of Indigeneity, from which one might enunciate conflictive and regenerative processes of remembering, healing, reclaiming and being. An evening with Mr. Poe and Other Authors of the Macabre WRITE OUT LOUD, an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for audiences of all ages, announces “Poe and His Progeny,” at the Villa Montezuma Museum in Sherman Heights. This historic Queen Anne Victorian was named “The Palace of the Arts," by Jessie Shepard, the musician, spiritualist and author who designed it in 1887.
