  • The West Coast Premiere of "Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical" written by Jonathan Hogue and directed by Kevin “Blax” Burroughs offers a hilarious, fun-filled romp into the supernatural world of the Netflix hit, "Stranger Things" October 4 through October 20. Set in the otherwise sleepy town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 80s, the parody embraces the nostalgia for days when kids were left free to wander around unsupervised - in this case into portals to a hellish upside down world. Featuring songs about how to get the girl, being the third wheel, and adventures, this show is wonderfully silly with a few interdimensional battles and singing demogorgons along the way. • We are excited to announce the much-anticipated return of Salt & Straw ice cream’s Halloween series. Through the month of October, the series features the return of five unique flavors from co-founder and head ice cream innovator Tyler Malek, including flavors with long-standing partner Monica Martinez, founder of Don Bugito, and Paola Briseño-González, food writer and leader of Los Angeles’ Dia de los Muertos festival, the largest in the United States. The series is also a nostalgic nod to founders’ Kim and Tyler Malek’s grandmother, who hosted an annual Halloween party where she completely transformed her basement into a haunted house for all kids in the neighborhood to enjoy. The flavors serve as a perfect way to celebrate all of the traditions of the season and satisfy your sweet tooth. Additionally, Salt & Straw is offering free scoops for kids under age 16 in costumes and free Pup Cups to furry friends in costume on Halloween as well as Chocolate Covered Crickets for purchase, to highlight the cult-following flavor collaboration with long-standing partner, Don Bugito and will continue to offer its seasonal Pumpkin Spiced Waffle Cone, in collaboration with Diaspora Co. Flavors include: The Great Candycopia — Housemade candy—inspired by Kit Kats, Reeses, Snickers, and Heath bars—folded into salted butterscotch ice cream. Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Bread — Pumpkin-spiced ice cream with sweet pieces of freshly-baked pumpkin bread, swaths of whipped cream cheese frosting and pinches of warming spices. Don Bugito's Creepy Crawly Critters — Matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and crunchy chocolate crickets (yes, real bugs!) from Don Bugito, a company on a mission to change how the world sees (and eats) insects. Essence of Ghost — Last served in 2018, Bone-white scotch-spiked sorbet wisped with a black licorice sorbet. Blackberry & Masa Tamale Sherbet (v) — A monster vegan mashup in tribute to Michoacán's tamal from the Purépecha region: half masa coconut cream sherbet, half juicy marionberry sherbet, made in collaboration with Paola Briseño-González Locations: Westfield UTC: 4575 La Jolla Village Dr #1150, San Diego, CA 92122 One Paseo: 3705 Caminito Ct Suite 0580, San Diego, CA 92130 Little Italy: 1670 India Street
