  • July 17 – 21 from 1 – 4 p.m. Beach Bags & Bucket Hats | This week of Summer Camp is all about sewing, sewing basics, and accessory design. Campers will add their own flare to the perfect beach day by making their own projects! Acquire new sewing skills such as reading a pattern, proper cutting procedures, all about zippers and more! In this camp they will take home their very own bucket hat and personalized beach bag. Come join us for a fun summer sewing experience. No sewing experience necessary! This camp is recommended for 8-18yrs. What to bring: A sun hat or sunscreen if your child is sensitive to sun. It’s best to dress in layers. We will be outdoors. Bring a refillable water bottle with water in it and a snack (no sugar or peanut products please). Bring your sewing machine if you have one. If not, let us know you need to borrow. There is a morning Fashion Design Camp from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. this same week. If you’d like your camper to stay, there’s a $20 fee for the week to cover the 1-hr gap. They can bring a lunch and have lunch with us with the option to do some fun crafts after lunch.   • Fourteen trucks with essential supplies provided by the United Nations entered the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday. It included water, food and medical equipment, but no fuel.

Screen Smart Parent Night will provide a framework, using resources and tools designed to support families on their digital parenting journey. Founded in 2018 by a trio of moms, the Screen Sanity nonprofit helps families and communities pursue digital health in order to reduce loneliness, depression, anxiety and suicide in a socially isolated society.   • Sunday, May 21 from 1 – 5 p.m. OR Saturday, August 12 from 1 – 5 p.m. No experience necessary. Ages 14+ welcome! In instructor Jeanine Ertl’s class, students will weave together in a space of colorful creativity and openness. She will provide instruction on weaving, a warped lap loom and a rainbow of recycled sari silk ribbon and yarn fibers to ignite your imagination. And we’ll weave together, learning and playing with the basics of the process from start to finish, each creating a unique handwoven that can be hung or draped, according to your desires. Please feel free to bring any items you may want to incorporate into your weaving, like interesting fibers, foraged and gathered natural objects, shells with holes, beads, etc. you may want to incorporate into your weaving. Each Weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind Handwoven Wall Hanging. In addition, if you find that you’re in love with the practice, you will have an option to purchase the loom you are working with, as well as additional fiber and tools to continue at home.
