Our Schools of Flamenco Series features students from two schools based in Los Angeles, California: Rina Orellana Flamenco Dance Academy and Vanessa Albalos' Flamenco Heart & Soul. Each school will perform roughly thirty minutes. Both groups will join together to conclude the last ten minutes of the concert. Our goal is to raise awareness about the impact of cheap foam bodyboards that break and pollute our beaches, posing a significant threat to wildlife and marine ecosystems here in San Diego. This contest invites surfers to reconnect with the global roots of surfing by competing on traditional wooden boards in a classic Hawaiian-style surf competition.
