  • Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. This workshop is designed to teach students the basics of woodworking and shop safety, and serves as a strong foundation for further exploration in woodworking. In addition to what you make, our goal is for you to leave feeling comfortable operating machinery and working in a shop environment. Students will make a cutting board, and through that process, learn how to safely use the miter saw, jointer, planer, table saw, drill press, router; as well as how to use clamps, glue up, and apply finish to their pieces. Help us commemorate and learn about the native people who continue to steward the lands we live on. Make a pinch pot with locally sourced clay and fill it with the seeds of native plants! With each step, we’ll provide information on coloring pages that you can staple into your zine.
