The InterContinental Hotel San Diego, in partnership with The San Diego Harbor Police Foundation, is hosting Home Runs for Homelessness on Saturday, October 22 to raise funds that will benefit the underserved community of Barrio Logan’s Perkins K-8 School. A fun, family-friendly event, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. participants will have the opportunity to request their “at-bat” song, step up to the plate and wind up for a wiffle ball pitch. The farther the ball goes, the greater the sum of money will be donated on each guests’ behalf. With an affordable entry fee of $5, ticket-holders have the chance to swing 5 times, with the option to pay an additional $15 for kids and $20 for adults for a ballpark-style lunch, which includes a Hot Dog or Cheeseburger, Chips, a soda and cookies or brownies. In addition to the home run contest, guests will also have the opportunity to partake in a silent auction highlighting prizes and experiences from local attractions and businesses, and enjoy fun kid-friendly activations including a bounce house and other exciting games. The Pad Squad and the Swinging Friar will also be there to cheer on participants, take pictures and more.
