Students will learn about wood as a material, proper, safe use of hand tools, and will make projects to take home. This class uses mostly hand tools. We teach safe methods for sawing, drilling, and clamping wood in this class. All materials included. We teach handtool skills to this age group using safe materials and practices. Each project builds on craftsmanship, dexterity and material exploration. Students will get acquainted with various woodworking tools and techniques and will be guided through a series of exercises that exercise hand-eye coordination, problem solving, and creativity. Students will make at least one project to take home over the course of the series. All materials included. Projects differ each month.   • Tuesdays from 4 – 5 p.m. Instructor Mia Vaughnes Children age 6+ are welcome! Join us for learning about plot planning, companion planting, maintenance, harvesting, seed saving, composting, and activities that progress the garden forward. Garden Club gives the children an opportunity to become good stewards of the garden and realize the impact of their efforts. Every club session will include a harvest culinary prepared treat so they can taste the goodness that comes from the garden. Our Edible Garden is a wonderful way to teach the community about how gardening in a small space can be quite abundant. It is all presented in the context of his virtuoso dulcimer work and rich vocals. Kevin’s music, art, and books have delighted audiences worldwide. His impressive career has spanned over three decades, winning over a dozen awards, including The American Library Association Notable Recordings. Kevin’s voice has been heard by millions singing the theme song to the hit PBS TV show, Shining Time Station (Thomas the Tank Engine). Throughout his career, Kevin’s concert appearances for both adult and family audiences have taken him from festivals to intimate concerts to major concert halls.
