She will provide instruction on weaving, a warped lap loom and a rainbow of recycled sari silk ribbon and yarn fibers to ignite your imagination. And we’ll weave together, learning and playing with the basics of the process from start to finish, each creating a unique handwoven that can be hung or draped, according to your desires. Please feel free to bring any items you may want to incorporate into your weaving, like interesting fibers, foraged and gathered natural objects, shells with holes, beads, etc. you may want to incorporate into your weaving. Each Weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind Handwoven Wall Hanging. In addition, if you find that you’re in love with the practice, you will have an option to purchase the loom you are working with, as well as additional fiber and tools to continue at home.   • Former child prodigy pianist Rossina Grieco will perform a special concert comprising J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 2 in C minor, BWV 826, Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 13 in B-flat major, K. 333, Chopin’s 24 Preludes, Op. 28, and a Mephisto Waltz by Liszt. Grieco has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas performing in venues such as Lincoln Center, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and Sherwood Hall, working alongside artists such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Richard Goode, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Yu Long, Dame Fanny Waterman, Gary Graffman, Eleanor Sokoloff, Fu Cong, and more. She has won many awards, including the Ihnatowycz Prize in Piano. Born and raised in La Jolla, she made her solo piano debut with the San Diego Symphony to a sold-out Copley Symphony Hall at age 8, in 2003. She most recently performed in Koerner Hall of the Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto. Concertgoers can choose to purchase a ticket that includes an after-concert dinner with Grieco.
