The Del Mar Farmers Market is a Certified and Non-Profit Farmers Market supporting California Farmers by providing opportunities to sell directly to the public. The Market offers pesticide-free seasonal fruits and vegetables, eggs, potted herbs, orchids, international cuisine, seafood, bread and baked goods, hummus, honey, fruit juice, and arts & crafts. The Market operates year-round on Saturdays from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on the lower outdoor parking lot at the Civic Center with free parking in the garage.

Join us on Free Third Thursday, April 18 for an artist talk with Christopher Cozier, an artist featured in our newest special exhibition Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s–Today. Christopher Cozier’s work as an artist, writer and curator aims to explore and affect conventional readings of the Caribbean, revealing alternative narratives and interpretations. Investigating the relationship between contemporary and historical conditions in his drawing, prints and installations, Cozier often sets up actions in response to new places and enlists mundane everyday objects along the way.  Guarantee your entry for the artist talk with a sliding scale donation that supports the programming and operations at MCASD. In this talk, Ramírez will set forth an introduction to brown artistic practices that put neo-colonial and liberal reason in crisis. Furthermore, he seeks to think about the paradoxical relationship between contemporary art and indigeneity as a creative entanglement that reshapes the repertoires of art history and museum collections. Pablo José Ramírez is a curator and an author. He is a curator at the Hammer Museum and co-curated "Made in LA 2023: Acts of Living" together with Diana Nawi. He was the inaugural adjunct curator of "First Nations and Indigenous Art" at Tate Modern (2019-2023). Ramirez was a co-curator of the 19th Paiz Biennale: Transvisible and part of the curatorial team of the 58th Carnegie International. He is the co-founder of Infrasonica, a leading curatorial platform for non-Western sonic cultures. He holds an MA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths University of London. Join instructor Suzanne Balestri to learn the basics of Fused Glass and create your own glass jewelry to keep for yourself or give as a gift. This fun workshop offers a perfect introduction to Kiln-Formed (fused) glass for beginners, and allows those who have worked with glass before to hone their abilities and finesse their skills. You will learn how fused glass differs from other forms of art glass, how to use the various tools involved in creating glass art, and how to cut and grind the glass you will be using in your wearable art project. Using a colorful array of glass and pre-fired adornments, you’ll construct abstract or representational designs to be fashioned into earrings, pendants, rings, cuff links, even belt buckles! Each student will have plenty of space in the kiln for several items! Your pieces will be fired in a glass kiln to completely fuse each design into one solid piece, and will be ready for you to pick up the following week. Workshop fee includes pre-workshop instructional videos, all glass, equipment, and kiln firing of several pieces. An additional supply fee of $10 (cash only) is due to instructor at the workshop. It includes pre-fused adornments plus jewelry findings for up to 3 items (excluding leather for bracelets/belts). Additional findings, chains, cording, and leather for bracelets and belts will also be available for cash purchase. This workshop is recommended for All Skill Levels – Ages 13 and up.
