Sabrosas Latin Orchestra, San Diego’s first and only all-female salsa band and a 501(c)(3) organization, is celebrating five years of community, music, and fun in 2024. The San Diego Watercolor Society proudly presents “Treasures”, juried by award-winning artist, Suzanne Nicolaison. The water-based media exhibition runs Jan 28 – Feb 24, 2024, at our Gallery in The ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. The Opening Reception is Friday, Feb 2, 5-8 p.m. with over 95 ready-to-hang original paintings plus refreshments and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts. Join us for our Lowercase Modern Calligraphy workshop for beginners, where you will learn the art of hand lettering using a traditional pointed dip pen and ink with a contemporary approach. Many people find Modern Calligraphy attractive to learn because it allows them to create beautiful, fun, and hand-crafted letters that are unique and personal. Modern Calligraphy is often characterized by its use of thick and thin lines, which give the letters a dynamic and expressive quality. Enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages. Space is limited, so be sure to register early. Please Note: We offer two separate workshops focusing on Modern Calligraphy.
