  • May 21, 28, June 4 from 1-4 p.m. This 3-week course spans a total of 9 hours of instruction. Learn to sew zippers, hoods, pockets and more – along with the importance of following grainlines, and how to properly measure your body and read a pattern. During the process, you’ll make your own hoodie or pullover. Instructor Tracey Herriot will show you simple troubleshooting tips, and walk students through the steps of sewing their own garment. Materials are provided. Note: there is a $15 material fee to be paid to the instructor at the start of the course. Some sewing experience required: you must know how to thread a machine and wind a bobbin.   • Exposure Skate, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in north county San Diego, is hosting a free learn-to-skate clinic for women and nonbinary adults 18 and up on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at Encinitas Community Park. This monthly program, “Sesh(E)” features free skate instruction from local Olympic and pro skateboarders as well as opportunities to participate in acts of service. This month, the Exposure will be collecting canned goods to donate to the Community Resource Center’s Food and Nutrition Services.
