  • Join us on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 at our 5th annual Reader Burgers & Beer event! This event will once again be held in beautiful Golden Hill Park. Try gourmet burgers from 20 of the best restaurants as they compete to win the "Best Burger" award. But what are burgers without beer to wash it down with? Enjoy beer tastings from 40+ local breweries. Curated exclusively by our food writers, this event brings together the very best burger vendors — and you decide who will ultimately win. Each attendee will be given a token to place in a voting box on the table of their favorite vendor. The vendor who receives the most tokens wins. While you eat your weight in burgers and bask in the San Diego sunshine, there will be live music, art demos and more. Saturday, September 10 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Golden Hill Park 21+ ONLY! • Weaving is an ancient craft that connects us in time to the methodical, meditative repetitive rhythm of movement. One swath of fiber crossing another, gradually creates fabric from fiber before one’s eyes. In this workshop we will weave together in a space of colorful creativity and openness. I will provide instruction on weaving, a warped lap loom and a rainbow of recycled sari silk ribbon and yarn fibers to ignite your imagination. And we’ll weave together, learning and playing with the basics of the process from start to finish, each creating a unique handwoven that can be hung or draped, according to your desires. Please feel free to bring any items you may want to incorporate into your weaving, like interesting fibers, foraged and gathered natural objects, shells with holes, beads, etc. you may want to incorporate into your weaving. Each Weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind Handwoven Wall Hanging. In addition, if you find that you’re in love with the practice, you will have an option to purchase the loom you are working with, as well as additional fiber and tools to continue at home. I’ll have tea and water on-hand, as we explore mindfully making in a space of creativity & harmony with others. This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to unlock their creativity for an afternoon of hands-on fiber fun, creating in a grounding space while making a one-of-a-kind, take-home Woven piece. Materials included. No experience necessary. Age 14+ SOCIALS: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram
