Ages 13-17 welcome! Steffi Dotson & Jon Raleigh teach this class that covers the properties of wood, machine safety and woodworking basics. Students will learn woodworking techniques, and safe practice of machine operations will be taught. Depending on the specific project, joinery techniques, proper sanding and finishing are part of the curriculum. Each attendee will make a project to take home. All materials included. Each project teaches craftsmanship, dexterity and material exploration. Students will get acquainted with various woodworking tools and techniques and will be guided through a series of exercises that teach hand-eye coordination, problem solving, and craftsmanship. Ongoing Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Ages 3-6 Welcome! Taught by instructor Hayley Haspel-Winick, this ongoing series is full of hands-on crafts for early childhood. Projects are Waldorf and Montessori-inspired using safe, natural materials. Each craft includes exercises that teach skills to young students such as hand-eye coordination and material exploration.
