It's a podcast that zooms way in on what really makes a culture — food, music, style, sex, fashion and more. Join host and co-creator Parker Edison for insightful conversations about creativity and community, all through the lens of Black America. This is the Parker Edison Project, a sonic exploration of culture as a lifestyle, where each episode starts with a thought-provoking talk and ends with a musical bang.

  • Writing the Micro Memoir — Life in a Flash Within the fast-growing atmosphere of hybrid forms of literature and somewhere between the six-word memoir and the book-length memoir stands the Micro Memoir. Often called Flash Memoir, these tiny, beautiful stories aren’t life squeezed down to fit into few pages (or less), but a captured moment in a life that opens into deeper, meaningful insights into the human experience. In this workshop, we’ll read published examples of micro–memoirs — from those complete within a single sentence to those made up of a few hundred words — and try our hand at writing our own. Participants will leave the workshop with at least one micro–memoir, and seeds enough for a lifetime. Follow on social media! Facebook + Instagram

  • Clay Open Studio is an opportunity for students to practice the clay skills they have already learned in our clay classes. Students have the chance to work in our studio using either hand building techniques or working on a pottery wheel. This is not an instructional class. There will be no instructor. By signing up for Clay Open Studio, you will receive 1/2 a bag of clay, 1 bisque fire, 1 glaze fire, and use of our glazes. We work with midfire clay. No outside clay is allowed (because disastrous things can happen, and we like our kilns!) Since there is no instruction in Open Studio, some clay experience is necessary. You must have taken one of our clay courses to participate, or have clay experience from elsewhere. Follow on social media! Facebook + Instagram
