Archaeological and historical evidence is used to tell the amazing story of Southern California’s first Spanish Colony. El Presidio de San Diego was Alta California’s first mission and outpost. The artists of Village Arts Center invite you to visit their working artist studios and colorful courtyard in Balboa Park for the holidays. Ernie Pyle was the preeminent correspondent of World War II who wrote about the war from the perspective of the GI and not the generals. His connection with veterans continues today through his successful advocacy for combat pay which became law in 1944 as the “Ernie Pyle Bill."
