At 1 p.m. "Ernie Pyle: The Soldier’s Friend and Voice" (on Zoom) Steve Key, President, Friends of Ernie Pyle.
Ernie Pyle was the preeminent correspondent of World War II who wrote about the war from the perspective of the GI and not the generals. His connection with veterans continues today through his successful advocacy for combat pay which became law in 1944 as the “Ernie Pyle Bill."
