At 1 p.m. "History of El Presidio de San Diego—San Diego’s Lost City" with Richard Carrico
MA Professor Emeritus - SDSU
El Presidio Real de San Diego (Royal Presidio of San Diego) is a historic fort in San Diego, California. It was established on May 14, 1769, by Gaspar de Portola, leader of the first European land exploration of Alta California—at that time an unexplored northwestern frontier area of New Spain. Archaeological and historical evidence is used to tell the amazing story of Southern California’s first Spanish Colony. El Presidio de San Diego was Alta California’s first mission and outpost.
At 2:30 p.m. "Let’s Hear from Our International Students" with Leti Jacques Quinn, MCC Student Services Coord. Two MiraCosta study-abroad alumni share their unforgettable summer 2025 experiences in Japan and Florence, highlighting cultural immersion, personal growth, and the lasting impact of global learning.
