  • With the intention to support meaningful exchange between the San Diego and Bay Area arts communities, DISCO RIOT and FACT/SF are pleased to present a shared evening of work, alongside other opportunities for creative exchange. FACT/SF initiated their PORT (Peer Organized Reciprocal Touring) model in 2017 with the ultimate aim to cultivate an open platform where any choreographer can match with another choreographer to embark on reciprocal touring. PORT: DISCO RIOT + FACT/SF was initiated in Summer 2022, when DISCO RIOT ventured to San Francisco to share a program with FACT/SF at ODC Theater. Now, FACT/SF journeys to San Diego to bring the reciprocal touring model full circle. In addition to the performance the artists will engage in post show talk-backs, and Charles Slender-White will offer a 3-day Countertechnique workshop for the greater San Diego dance community. DISCO RIOT is excited to host this performance event at their new performance space at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Downtown. As part of a strategic shift announced earlier this year, MCASD is working with DISCO RIOT and Blindspot Collective to develop a multi-disciplinary arts hub for local artists, and PORT: DISCO RIOT + FACT/SF is one of the first opportunities to experience performance in this new venue. $15 for artists/students, and $25 for the general public.
