Mayor Todd Gloria announced Monday the formation of the Military, Veteran and Families Advisory Council, which will meet quarterly and advise the mayor.

San Diego County reported 563 new cases of COVID-19 and no new virus-related deaths in its latest data.

Friday's data increased the county's cumulative totals to 373,831 cases and 4,250 fatalities since the pandemic began.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
