Environmental health officials Tuesday urged swimmers and surfers to stay out of the coastal beaches and bays following recent rain in the county.

San Diego County public health officials reported 420 new cases of COVID-19 Monday and 13 virus-related deaths.

Power was knocked out Monday afternoon for more than 3,200 San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the areas of Ocean Beach, Sunset Cliffs and Point Loma.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
