Earlier this month Tijuana officials announced it would conduct wide-ranging water shutoffs for the next two months, in an attempt to replenish a vital reservoir that is perilously low. -

Strong Santa Ana winds are expected again in San Diego County beginning late Tuesday, raising the threat of wildfires through Thursday evening. -
The conditions — featuring winds out of the east and northeast at 50 to 80 mph, combined with humidity levels as low as 5% — are likely to be the strongest of the season so far and create "an extreme fire-weather environment."
