New Study Suggests Crimes Rates Down in San Diego County

Tom Fudge: Everyone knows the crime rate has been going down in America during the past decade or two. But now residents of San Diego County have a report that shows how far down it has gone across the county. Let's just say, if crime statistics tell the story, you're safer than you've been in 25 years. Crime in our region peaked in the early 90’s, and it's been falling ever since. In fact, 2007 had the lowest rate of violent crime we've seen since 1983, the first year the study examined.
