The Blue Angels announced the members of their 2013 team, and a San Diego-based officer made the list.
Navy Lt. Cmdr. Mark DeBuse, assigned to Carrier Air Wing 9 at Naval Air Station North Island, was named Flight Surgeon for the Blue Angels. According to the Navy, DeBuse is a 1996 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2009.
Remaining on the team this year is Navy Lt. Holly Taylor, who was assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 49 at NAS North Island when she was selected for the 2012 Blue Angels team.
The Blue Angels also announced the pre-selected members of the 2014 team, and Navy Lt. Cmdr. Declan Hartney, assigned to Naval Special Warfare Support Activity 1 at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, made that team.
