Maureen Cavanaugh: The rainy season in San Diego was not wet enough to stop talk of water rationing this summer. But apparently there was just enough rain to create a bumper crop of bugs. San Diego County is predicting more than the usual amount of caterpillers, ants, earwigs and the rest, along with some new species of bugs just arrived in San Diego from foreign plants and trees.

So, bugs love San Diego, but most San Diegans don't return the affection. We'll find out which bugs to avoid, which bugs to remove and learn about a bug or two that may not be so bad after all.
