About 2,000 San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the City Heights area lost power early Thursday, according to the utility.
The outage struck at 6:45 a.m., SDG&E reported on its website.
By around 8 a.m., electricity had been restored to all but about 800 of the affected customers. The utility estimated power would be restored fully by 2:30 p.m.
The cause was under investigation. The SDG&E website reported "a combination of factors has caused a problem."
