"Cook's Country From America's Test Kitchen" features regional home cooking from across the country. The series, like the successful Cook’s Country magazine, approaches food in a practical, no-nonsense way. In a renovated 1806 farmhouse, the cast scientifically re-imagines family-friendly recipes for the modern home cook.

In this episode, Bridget Lancaster adapts a Texas favorite and shows host Christopher Kimball how to make authentic-tasting chili con carne at home. Then, Lancaster teaches Kimball how to make Southern-style skillet cornbread with hearty corn flavor. Finally, equipment expert Adam Ried tests safety can openers and reveals the winner.

Ever wonder what it takes to film a public television show in a farmhouse built in 1806? COOK'S COUNTRY FROM AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN uncovers the best of American home cooking. Our recipes are tested not once, not twice, but often as many as 20, 30 or even 40 times. The result: foolproof recipes you can trust to work the first time—and every time. Our show, now in its third season, is filmed in a renovated 1806 farmhouse with a full working test kitchen.
