Adult Swim's newest series spoofs TV's love affair with acronym-named crime procedurals, and this one is set in San Diego! It's called "NTSF:SD:SUV::" or "National Terrorism Strike Force : San Diego : Sport Utility Vehicle::" (I'm not sure why there are two colons at the end). Each episode is 15 minutes long.

The description of the show from the website:

NTSF:SD:SUV::, also known as the National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle::, is a clandestine team of government agents working together to protect San Diego from numerous terrorist threats coming in daily from such evil countries as Mexico, Canada, Guam and more. This team of highly trained operatives has only one job: saving your ass so you can drive your Prius and see your movies in 3-D without worrying about living in a country run by no-good terrorists. As with many other police procedurals that dominate the airwaves, NTSF:SD:SUV::'s season of 15-minute episodes is ripped from the headlines and full of suspense, action, drama, cliffhangers, yelling, passionate love-making, more yelling, death and plenty of pregnant pauses.

The show was created by, and stars, Paul Scheer ("Parks and Recreation," "Piranha 3D") and stars Rebecca Romjin, Rob Riggle ("The Daily Show"), Kate Mulgrew, Brandon Johnson, June Diane Raphael, Martin Starr and S.A.M., the first sentient robot on television.

Paul Scheer is in town this weekend for Comic-Con, and I've booked him for Midday Edition next week. Check out the first episode of "NTSF:SD:SUV::" Thursday night at 12:15am (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network.
