Darfur Crisis Debated in Washington's Halls of Power

This week, President Bush threatened sanctions against Sudan to pressure the country into allowing a robust international peacekeeping force in Darfur.

The goal is to protect millions of people forced from their homes by government-backed militias. The United States has labeled the conflict a genocide.

Activists say America's threats sound empty four years into the conflict. They are turning their attention to countries with more leverage in Sudan.
