"Lyin' Ted." "Short fingers." "She's not qualified."
The 2016 presidential race has seen no shortage of name-calling and insults. And the rancor has kept political pundits very busy.
But is this really the way to conduct the race for president of the United States?
The 5th annual “Restoring Civility to Civic Dialogue” conference in San Diego gets underway Monday at the University of San Diego. The theme is how to help the next generation avoid over-the-top political rhetoric through education.
Carl Luna, political science professor at San Diego Mesa College, and Alexander Heffner, the conference's keynote speaker and host of "The Open Mind," which airs on some PBS stations, preview the conference on KPBS Midday Edition Thursday.
