A security breach first reported over a week ago at Scripps Health is still causing problems.
It is unclear when San Diego's largest health care provider will gain control over its patient files, medical systems and ability to communicate with its patients.

Scripps Health officials have not released many details about the malware attack or their efforts to repair the damage. Their most recent update (last Wednesday) said a cybersecurity firm is assisting in restoring critical services after discovering malware on their computer networks.
The FBI has merely stated it is aware of the situation. It remains unknown who is behind the attacks or how much ransom, if any, they are demanding.
Cyberattacks greatly increased in 2020, with one software firm reporting a nearly 1000% increase in such attacks.
KPBS Health Reporter Matt Hoffman told KPBS Midday Edition Monday that patients of Scripps Health, especially those scheduled for treatments or procedures, have expressed their frustration in one of the venues still open to them, Scripps Health's Facebook account.
